Information for Some Papers of Intent to Be Published by the Journal of Applied Mechanics
For the symposium 2010, a number of papers will be given the opportunity to be scientifically reviewed and published in a renowned scientific journal. The Journal of Applied Mechanics will prepare to publish a special issue including about 22 papers (each paper within 9 pages of Journal format) from papers of the 25th ISB.
If an author writes a paper of more than 9 pages (of Journal format) length (corresponding to about 16 pages’ length in typical ISB paper format), there will be an extra cost of USD200 per page and this must be born by the author. Additionally, if the author wishes to use color graphics, there are special charges which are quite expansive and should be avoided.
If authors hope their papers to have opportunity to be published by the Journal, they should submit a short abstract by email before March 1, 2009. After that time the preliminary review of these abstracts organized by International Ballistics Committee will be made immediately from them received and then all authors of these abstracts will be informed. There are about 65 full papers needed to be further reviewed. The manuscripts of these papers, their abstracts accepted temporarily, should be submitted in the PDF format used by the Journal before August 1, 2009.
The usual abstracts of papers without intent of publication by the Journal are still submitted before August 1, 2009. This means that an author must submit either a full paper for further review of Journal publication or a usual abstract of symposium, not both at the same time.
All abstracts for these papers of intent of publication by the Journal, temporarily called as early papers, could be submitted directly to the ISB2010 website or http://www.ciccst.net/conf/lunwen_new/login.asp?cnfid=501
All manuscripts for these papers of intent of publication by the Journal, temporarily called as early papers, could be submitted directly to the ASME website, citing the 25th International Symposium on Ballistics and using the ASME’s on-line paper submission system. The authors can use the following reference:
http://journaltool.asme.org/Help/AuthorHelp/WebHelp/JournalsHelp.htm#
Submissions/Creating_an_Account.htm
When submitting a manuscript there the author must refer to "ISB 2010".
Attention please: The authors of all these early papers must, at the same time, submit a copy of manuscript to the organizers of the 25th ISB via the on-line system of symposium website.
If one of these manuscripts would be rejected finally for publication in the Journal, this would then give sufficient time for the author to compress it for publication by the symposium. For these papers to be published by the Journal, their extended abstracts may be included in the Proceedings of the Symposium, but not the full paper.
It is also essential that these papers of publication by the Journal will be treated equally to all others when it comes to placing them on the program as either oral or poster papers.
